The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has launched a data analysis program, Measuring Broadband Canada (MBC), that through volunteer participation gathers accurate information on fixed wireless broadband speeds across the country.

The objective of this program is to collect real-time data on the performance of fixed wireless services provided by various telecom companies in different regions of Canada. By evaluating the actual speeds experienced by users, the CRTC aims to gain insights into the quality and performance of wireless internet services, ultimately working towards improving the overall connectivity experience for all Canadians.

Vianet Fixed Wireless customers who currently subscribe to a speed of 50Mbps download or faster qualify to participate in this program and received an email from Vianet on July 13 introducing this project. MBC aims to collect data from volunteers like you to support future broadband projects and funding nationwide.

If you are interested, you are invited to complete the registration on their website at https://www.measuringbroadbandcanada.com/signup .

For more detailed information about this phase of the project, please consult Frequently Asked Questions – Measuring Broadband Canada.

Your participation will help improve connectivity and enhance the overall internet experience for all Canadians.
